What matters for this visit
Choose your journey first
A self-drive ticket can be a good fit when you already have a car and are comfortable returning on mountain roads after dark. It is not simply a cheaper transfer ticket. DAS explicitly requires a car so guests can follow the guides between viewpoints. Night Skies sends seasonal meeting instructions. For a pickup option, check the actual meeting point before selecting a date: southern coverage does not mean every hotel is served.
Dinner, photographs and warm clothing
Night Skies lists complimentary photos and a sunset time-lapse, plus coats on request. DAS includes a guest astrophotograph but reserves jackets for the VIP option. Tenerife Stars lists professional photography as an extra and excludes jackets and blankets. Both Night Skies and Tenerife Stars sell meal options. Compare the final selected package rather than assuming the smallest headline price includes dinner and transport.
What will you see?
The telescope programme depends on season, cloud, wind and the Moon. A bright Moon can be fascinating through a telescope while making faint deep-sky objects less prominent. Sunset is a weather-dependent part of the evening too. None of these three listings includes the cable car or a summit ascent; choose the dedicated cable car outing if high-altitude daytime views are your priority.

Does a tour include the summit?
None of these selected products is sold here as a summit hike. The cable car reaches the upper station at 3,555 metres; the crater trail requires separate authorisation. Read our cable car and permits guide.
Is hotel pickup included?
It depends on the product and option. Some listings offer selected southern pickup, the cable car tour offers northern and southern collection, and others require self-arrival. Check the exact point before paying.
What should I wear?
Bring warm layers and comfortable closed footwear. High-altitude trails and vehicle activities have specific footwear, clothing or document requirements, listed on the individual tour page.
